Ingredients

For the Blondies

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Gluten-free flour can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter Melted; coconut oil can be a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Light brown sugar can be swapped for dark brown sugar.
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 medium Apples Peeled and diced; any tart variety works well.

For the Maple Glaze

  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter
  • ½ cup Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Adjust for desired consistency.

Instructions

Making the Blondies

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Cream the melted butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Prepare the maple glaze by combining butter and maple syrup in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies once the glaze has cooled slightly.
