Instructions

How to Make Dutch Oven Cheddar Bread

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast until well blended.
  • Pour the room temperature water into the dry ingredients and stir until you have a sticky dough.
  • Gently fold the shredded cheddar cheese into the dough until evenly distributed.
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before baking, preheat your oven to 450°F and place an empty Dutch oven inside.
  • On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a ball, coating it lightly with flour.
  • Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven, place your shaped dough inside, cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Once baked, let the bread cool for a few minutes, then slice and enjoy warm.

Notes
